Bob Heyden

Bob “Hollywood” Heyden has been the Meadowlands Racetrack’s statistician and handicapper since 1984. He appears nightly on “Racing from the Meadowlands” recap show on SNY and conducts all winner’s circle interviews.

“Holly News and Notes” are a must read for little known facts and important historical racing data. Heyden is the master of facts, stats and historical trends in racing.

Bob is a columnist and regular contributor to harness and thoroughbred magazines and newspapers all over North America.

Caton Bredar

Caton Bredar is an award-winning journalist with nearly 20 years experience in television covering horses, racing and handicapping. The Palatine, Illinois native grew up on the backstretches of Arlington Park and Hawthorne Race Course, where she exercised horses for a variety of trainers including her father, Raymond Metzler.

The granddaughter of Hall of Fame jockey Ted Atkinson, Bredar has held owner, trainer and even racing official licenses.

The simulcast host for many years at Gulfstream Park, she shifted full time to television and handicapping in 1999, with the launch of TVG.  Since 2003, Bredar has lived in Louisville, Kentucky where she occasionally anchors and reports for the NBC-affiliate, WAVE-3 News.

She frequently can be seen covering major races across the nation on HRTV or ESPN/ABC, for whom she reports on horseback for the Belmont Stakes and Breeders’ Cup.

Bill Finley

After somehow graduating from Tufts University in 1983 despite spending most of his college years gambling at Suffolk Downs, Bill Finley began a career in racing journalism that has included stops at the Daily Racing Form, New York Post, New York Daily News and New York Times.

He currently writes a weekly racing column for ESPN.com and is the co-publisher of Harness Racing Update, an on-line publication that is recognized as one of the leading voices in that sport. Along the way, he has earned several awards, including an Eclipse Award for outstanding print journalism. Recognized as one of the leading racing writers in the country, he has been part of the Down the Stretch and Race of the Week teams since Day One, working as an analyst and occasional host of the racing broadcasts. He lives in Fair Haven, New Jersey, which, he notes, is just 5.7 miles from Monmouth Park, his favorite thoroughbred racetrack.

Dave Johnson

Dave Johnson has been a working member of the Thoroughbred and Standardbred horseracing industry for more than forty years.

Starting at Cahokia Downs and Fairmount Park in Southern Illinois in 1965, Johnson has been Track Announcer, Journalist, Television and Radio Producer and Broadcaster.

For a quarter century, Dave was the “Voice of The Triple Crown” for ABC Sports.  When those races moved to NBC television, Dave moved to radio.  He has been a member of the broadcasting teams for Premiere Radio, Westwood One and Clear Channel, calling The Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes for national radio audiences for more than 10 years.

Over the years, Johnson has served as Track Announcer for Hialeah, Cahokia Downs, Fairmount Park, Aqueduct, Belmont Park, Saratoga, Marlboro and Santa Anita.

Dave is a 1966 American History graduate of Southern Illinois University, and now lives in New York City.
